铜香炉是盛放香料燃烧的熏香器具，我国在汉代曾铸造过铜熏炉，俗称“博山炉”。博山炉器形近似战国时期的青铜豆，炉体呈半球形，上有镂空的山形盖，圆盘形底座，中有圆柱与炉体相接。后来又铸造使用过一些鸭形铜熏炉。隋唐时期流行一种形似蒙古包的铜熏炉，这种熏炉炉体呈圆盘形，上有镂空的山形盖，形状近似蒙古包，下有兽足。
